Now that you’ve found your way to www.jobsafetyskills.com, you’ve probably noticed we’ve made some changes. With help from Edmonton-based web wizards Pderas Consulting Group, the JSSS has spent the past few months working away at revamping our website to reflect our progressive efforts towards better engaging our stakeholders and building our JobSafe community.
Design and Display
For the new website, we wanted to achieve harmony between a more modern and simplistic design, and increased user-friendliness and easy navigation. You’ll notice a lot of white space complemented by our JobSafe brand colours and images that are relevant to youth workplace safety and education. Along the top of the page is an easy navigation menu that highlights menu items that are listed in order of relevance to our users. You’ll also notice we’ve included our new JobSafe logo and slogan – “Empowering today’s youth for tomorrow’s workplace.” Front and centre you’ll find JobSafe course information, login access and the option to donate through our CanadaHelps.org page, as we wanted to emphasize the importance of these three things. Our Job Safety Skills Society promotional video is displayed much more prominently about halfway down our new homepage, which is followed by the outlined benefits of our JobSafe Program.
Page Updates
The Resources section has been updated for relevancy and comprehensiveness. It has also been re-organized to make navigation much easier for our web users. Resources are now broken down into four primary categories: Articles and Links, Community Links, Educator Resources and Professional Development, and Scholarships and Awards. Our About page now includes JSSS’ Board of Directors roster, staff, certifying partners and other members of the JobSafe community. We’ve added a Donate page that allows users to make an easy one-click contribution to the JSSS via our CanadaHelps.org page, and our Sponsor page highlights our current corporate sponsors and includes a fillable form for organizations that are interested in sponsoring the JSSS. We’ve also updated our News & Events page so as to be more attention grabbing, and we will now be updating these sections on a weekly basis.
The purpose of the JSSS website revamp is to reflect our value of creating a progressive and sustainable JobSafe community that will better engage our stakeholders; provide students, educators and the public with comprehensive access to useful resources; and to invite others to help us empower today’s youth for tomorrow’s workplaces.

We hope you make great use of our new website. Stay tuned for the launch of our new Learning Management System (LMS)!
